CompactHabit monta un edifici de 9 plantes en 40 dies

It took CompactHabit only 9 days to build the tallest modular building in the country, surpassing the one on Marroc Street, also built by CompactHabit.

The building has a basement, ground floor, and first floor constructed with traditional systems and intended for public facilities. The upper floors are made up of 48 modules manufactured and fully equipped in our factory using industrialised construction methods.

On the first-floor slab, concrete columns with steel plates were installed to support the three-dimensional concrete modules from CompactHabit.

The modules installed on Carrilet Avenue in Barcelona measure over 4 metres wide and more than 14 metres long, with a weight ranging between 45 and 55 tonnes, depending on whether they are end modules or central modules (the latter being the majority and also the heaviest). This project will provide 40 new social housing units for the Catalan capital.

During the assembly, which lasted 9 days, 6 modules were installed per day. To ensure proper floor alignment, the assembly was carried out floor by floor up to the fifth. The modules on the roof floor are taller and require special transport; therefore, during the last three days, two modules from this top floor were delivered daily. From the sixth floor upwards, the assembly was completed in a pyramid shape.

This project is promoted by IMHAB of the Barcelona City Council and developed in a joint venture by Constructora d’Aro and Cardoner Group, using the CompactHabit construction system — the brand of Constructora d’Aro.
