Origin The Compact Habit® project was born toward the end of 2002 as a result of the difficulties inherent in the construction industry at the time: the difficulty of finding well-trained professionals, a constant increase in work-related accidents, the impossibility of predetermining construction costs in a reasonable way, the impossibility of improving the results of a work method that is almost a “craft”, etc. Faced with a problem that has dragged on for forty years, Constructora d’Aro took up the challenge of finding a new formula for building that could provide a solution to all these problems. This is how Compact Habit®’s Integral Modular Building system (EMI system) was developed, a construction system based on modules that are prefabricated and fully equipped using industrial processes. A project that deals with a concern about the evolution of the construction industry that has been growing for more than sixty years in many different parts of the world. Constructora d’Aro, where the project was conceived, is a company with more than 35 years experience in the field. In the course of its long history, Constructura d’Aro has made many buildings for housing, industrial plants and facilities of all sorts. The new Integral Modular Building system (EMI system) represents, for the company, a turning point of great importance in its history.
